PILGRIMAGES

Lion’s Roar’s mission is to communicate Buddhist wisdom and practices to benefit people’s lives and our society, and to support the development of Buddhism in today’s world.

The tradition of pilgrimage is common to most religions. It has been an important Buddhist practice since the time of the Buddha himself.
As one teacher, Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche, explains, "The aim of all Buddhist practice is to catch a glimpse of the awakened state. Going on pilgrimage, soaking up the sacred atmosphere of holy places, and mingling with other pilgrims are simply different ways of trying to achieve that glimpse."

Lion’s Roar is proud to offer these opportunities to travel to some of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Buddhist world.
