Tibet House US was founded at the request of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and is dedicated to preserving Tibet’s unique culture at a time when it is confronted with extinction on its own soil. By presenting Tibetan civilization and its profound wisdom, beauty, and special art of freedom to the people of the world, we hope to inspire others to join the effort to protect and save it.
Tibet House US is part of a worldwide network of Tibetan institutions committed to ensuring that the light of the Tibetan spirit never disappears from the face of this earth.
About Lion’s Roar
The tension in the world today is palpable—news of the climate crisis, social injustice, and suffering of all kinds surround us. Yet, many people are also waking to the truth of our interconnectedness like never before.
It’s up to each of us to nurture awareness of this connection and to cultivate compassion for each other. The Dalai Lama’s message of compassion shows the way forward, calling us home to our true nature.
In 2020, we launched the first historic Dalai Lama Global Vision Summit, with 90,000 people from around the world tuning in. Following its international success, we turn our focus to the quality and practice His Holiness prizes most: compassion.
We’re pleased to partner once again with Tibet House US to present the 2nd Dalai Lama Global Vision Summit—The Power of Compassion— bringing together an extraordinary panel of Buddhist teachers, scholars, scientists, interfaith leaders, and activists offering practical wisdom to help us understand, develop, and activate compassion in our lives.
The Dalai Lama envisions a world united by peace, compassion, and loving-kindness. Join us for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of a revolution that begins right here in our own hearts, and has the power to transform our world.
Sharon Salzberg
Over the course of 5 days, we’ll explore the Dalai Lama’s vision and practice of compassion with expert presentations and guided meditations from 20+ extraordinary speakers, including world-renowned meditation teachers, psychologists, neuroscientists, Buddhist scholars, and change-makers working from the heart of compassion.

Welcome to The Dalai Lama Global Vision Summit
Compassion for the Earth
As a species, we are faced with enormous collective challenges with an urgent need to reimagine our societies as life-sustaining, regenerative, and equitable. Compassion is essential for all of this. We look at sources of support for dreaming a new world into being, with wisdom from indigenous shamanic practices and our own bodies as a basis for sustainable action.
DAY 5
Mission-driven, non-profit, and community-supported, Lion’s Roar provides Buddhist teachings, news, and perspectives so that the understanding and practice of Buddhism flourishes in today’s world and its timeless wisdom is accessible to all. We do this by providing as many entry points as we can: through our print and digital publications, our website, video, social media, online courses, practice retreats, and more. We try to bring dharma to people right where they are, knowing what a difference it can make in their lives.
DAY 2
The Science of Compassion
Explore how Buddhist monks and modern scientists are working together to discover how meditation and ethical practices can literally change our minds, and our realities. We’ll hear details of exciting new insights from the worlds of neuroscience and psychology, exploring compassion through a lens where science and spirituality meet.
The Compassionate Society
Current events have shown a desperate need for more compassionate systems – from government to the judiciary to employment. What can we do to address the damage that social injustice and discrimination do to our societies? And what values should we promote in their place?
DAY 4
DAY 3
Compassion in our Daily Lives
All our highest aspirations are tested in the day-to-day business of living – in our families and friendships, our workplaces and communities. We look at how developing self-compassion and radical self-love is crucial to making our dream of compassionate action a reality.
